Couples Therapy & Marriage Counseling
Is couples therapy right for you?
You may benefit from couples therapy if you…
- Are having the same arguments over and over, even about “stupid” things.
- Want to improve communication and feel better understood by one another.
- Feel emotionally or physically disconnected, including intimately.
- Have something important that was never fully addressed or repaired. You simply agreed to move on, but trust has never fully recovered.
- Feel the household responsibilities or the mental load is unbalanced.
- See parenting differences and disagreements creating tension in your relationship.
- Are dealing with a major change together, such as becoming parents, relocating, retirement, or a career change.
Your First Few Sessions
No one knows your relationship and experiences better than you do. Our role is to ask the right questions, help organize what you’ve shared into a clear understanding of what’s happening, and to help develop a thoughtful plan moving forward.
Session 1
Meet together to understand your relationship, what’s bringing you in, and what you’d like to see change.
Sessions 2 & 3
Meet individually with each partner to better understand your personal history, perspective, strengths, and the unique experiences each of you brings into the relationship.
Session 4
Come back together to review what we’ve learned, discuss your treatment plan, and begin working towards your goals together.
We find this approach creates a stronger foundation and allows us to begin therapy with greater clarity, direction, and purpose. Because every couple is different, we can adjust this process based on your needs,
Intensive Therapy
For some couples, 45–90 minutes simply isn’t enough time to work through the conversations that matter most. Couples intensive therapy provides the opportunity to stay engaged, work through long-standing issues, and make meaningful progress without pausing for two weeks, just as things begin moving forward.
