Family Therapy

Is Family Therapy right for your family?

It might be if you…

  • Want to strengthen your relationships with certain family members and create healthier ways to communicate, support, and better understand one another.
  • Feel the distance between family members continuing to grow and don’t know how to begin bringing everyone back together.
  • Have an adult child, sibling, or parent relationship that has become strained and want to repair it before the distance continues to grow.
  • Are concerned that your teen or young adult is struggling emotionally, socially, academically, or having difficulty moving toward greater independence.
  • Recognize that the mental health, substance use, or other challenges of one family member are affecting everyone and want to work through them together.
  • Are navigating ongoing conflict within a family business, shared finances, caregiving responsibilities, or other situations that keep your lives closely connected.
  • Are adjusting to a significant change affecting your family and want support working through it together.
  • Want to create a healthier future for your family, even if you’re not sure where to begin.

What Therapy Looks Like

Family therapy often benefits from having more time and space than a traditional therapy session. Because several people are involved, we commonly recommend 60 or 90-minute sessions whenever possible, though we’re always happy to work with your family’s schedule and circumstances.

Unlike many of our other services, family therapy is often most effective in person. Depending on your family’s needs, we may meet outdoors throughout Savannah or in your home, where patterns, interactions, and day-to-day dynamics can often be understood more naturally.

Intensive Therapy

When several family members are involved, coordinating schedules and creating meaningful progress can be challenging. Family intensive therapy provides extended time to bring everyone together, stay with important conversations, and make the most of the time you have together.
